OUR ST. PAUL LASER HAIR REDUCTION PROCESS

Our treatment requires that clients shave the treatment area the night prior or morning of their appointment. While many laser hair reduction technologies require an application of numbing cream, our GentleMax Pro instead, applies a cooling spray of cryogen before the laser is activated, which makes for a much more comfortable experience. Our laser technology can safely and effectively treat skin types 1-6 on the Fitzpatrick skin type scale. Not all laser technology can treat all skin types.

Depending on your focus areas of treatment, sessions can last anywhere between 15-90 minutes. After your treatment, we recommend a combination of aloe and cold packs to reduce any heat or discomfort. You may experience a slight sunburn-like sensation and redness for 24 hours and/or bumpiness on the skin for a few days after your appointment. It takes roughly 1-2 weeks for the hair to begin pushing out of the follicle, which is why we schedule our laser hair reduction appointments about 4-6 weeks apart. Clients on average have 8-10 treatments to experience their hair reduction goals. 

Laser Hair Reduction Side Effects

While laser hair removal is fairly non-invasive, it can have some side effects and potential risks depending on the individual. If you are concerned about potential side effects, speak with one of our highly trained technicians about what you can expect. 

1. Irritated Skin: Skin irritation, discomfort, redness, and other sunburn-like symptoms after laser hair reduction. The irritation generally disappears within 2 - 24 hours.

2. Bumps: You might experience small bumps or pimples around the hair follicles. This is totally normal, do not pick or scratch at them. 

3. Histamine Response: You may experience an allergic/histamine response. If this happens, you can take an over the counter antihistamine and apply ice. Let your technician know about this. 

4. Things to Avoid: Avoid sunbathing for 4-6 weeks following treatment. Avoid swimming in chlorine, heat treatments like hot tubs and saunas, and spa treatments for 2-4 days after treatments. Do not use products in treatment areas if it stings upon application.   

IS IT PERMANENT?

One question we are asked frequently is: will laser hair reduction be permanent? Actively growing hair that we treat today does not grow back. Each treatment is targeting hair that was not previously treated. 

Some factors that can influence the outcome may include: how many sessions a person has, if sessions are scheduled at optimal times, and changing of hormones and health. The hair on our bodies grow at a different pace depending on where it is — that is why we only treat pigmented hair that is actively growing for optimal results. 

Memberships & Pricing

We take a unique approach to laser hair reduction in St. Paul. Most companies define a treatment area and require you to pay for each body area. This can make appointments incredibly expensive if you end up wanting to remove hair outside of the designated area. We created a monthly membership model that allows you to define your own treatment area and just purchase the amount of time needed to treat your focus areas as you define them.

Each area of the body takes on average, eight treatments to see most hair growth gone. Each treatment is spaced four - six weeks apart, the goal of this spacing is to catch each wave of hair growth. We give our clients incredible flexibility to shift their membership as their objectives change — with no payment penalty to move within the memberships. Our model allows for clients to decide over time, rather than have to decide today how many sessions you may need and have to commit financially to a package that may not serve you 4 months from now.
